It was our pleasure to support Sandwell Council’s Employment and Skills team, Think Sandwell in delivering an apprenticeship information event for small to medium sized businesses, on Wednesday 29 October.
Well done to the team for ‘Supporting SMEs with Apprenticeships’, it was a valuable morning covering: What are apprenticeships? Levels, incentives from the government, benefits of taking on an apprentice and more.
It was also great to hear from Kirsty from Doocey Group – sharing how buddying with an ambassador such as Sandwell Council took her from knowing nothing about apprenticeships in the Feb of 2022, to taking on a cohort in the September of 2022. In her own words ‘Don’t underestimate the power of that first Teams Call’.
A huge shout out to our Employer Ambassador Sandwell Council (featuring Doocey Group) for delivering the event, supporting SME’s entering the world of Apprenticeships ⭐️.
And a special shout out to Chloe, a Customer Service Apprentice who shared her story of navigating the world of work as a neurodivergent individual. We may have poached her for the network!
We will be hearing from Sandwell at our next Hyrbid Meeting on 24th November about how the day went, including what went well, how they arranged it, how the WMAAN supported etc. 🤝
So – if you are a SME looking for an experienced Buddy such as Sandwell, or, if you’re an ambassador who wants to put on an event like this but not sure where to start – We can help 🙋🏼♀️.
